The packaging paper price increases 300 RMB each ton according to CHINAPAPER at www.chinapaper.net.
On Feb. 18 most of the packaging boxes factories start to work after the China Lunar New Year holiday. According to Nine Dragons， one of Asia’s largest packaging and paper producers, all their production bases which are located in China mainland increase the paper price including corrugated paper, kraft paper, and so on. Separately, Vinda International Holdings, China’s third-largest tissue manufacturer, said that it had raised tissue product prices by 20 to 30 per cent since last December in response to rising pulp prices.
In Europe the paper price also increased from last December. According to PaperFirst , The Navigator Company announced last December that it would increase paper prices in Europe from 4% to 6%, setting a minimum of 30 euros net per tonne. The company also announced that the increase would be effective for all dispatches from 1st February 2021.
Why does the paper price increase? According to the analysis of Staples , the first reason is the growth of the economy causing the demand for paper and packaging materials to increase. The second reason is the paper manufacturing capacity in the United States has fallen. Additionally, a massive change in Chinese recycling markets has affected the international paper market.
